AutoBlueberry was created for several reasons. First and foremost, Dutch Passion wanted to improve the quality of its genetic collection of autoflowering, feminized varieties. Blueberry itself is one of the varieties that are always in demand, namely as a Dutch Passion Classic. The special quality of Dutch Passion's Blueberry is known worldwide. In the case of AutoBlueberry, these qualities are incorporated into a feminized and autoflowering form. Canadian ruderalis genetics were used as the source of autoflowering genetics. Backcrossing to the F4 generation resulted in 100% autoflowering AutoBlueberry.
