Pamir Gold originates in the western Himalayas in Tajikistan. It was adapted to the European alpine climate in the Swiss Alps over several years of breeding and selection. The best specimens are used to produce feminized seeds in the Netherlands. Pamir Gold is predominantly indica (60%, 40%).
