Svlačec trojbarevný
This plant is characterized by its three colors. The flowers open in beautiful weather. In the original species, the edge of the funnel-shaped flowers is purple and transitions to a white center with a yellow eye. In addition, there are numerous cultivars with pink flowers, in various shades of blue and purple. They are usually offered in mixtures. They are grown as annuals. Initially, they grow prostrate, then erect to about 20-40 cm and are hairy, with lanceolate to convergent ovate, almost spoon-shaped leaves. The tricolor bindweed blooms from June to September.
Morning glories require a sunny location, calcareous, permeable garden soil, and sowing soil. Plant purchased or grown plants 40 cm apart. Water regularly. Remove flowers that last only one day immediately after blooming so that the plant can form new buds.
Morning glory is also beautiful as a trailing plant in hanging pots and planters. It looks nice in combination with neighboring single-color plants in shades of funnel-shaped flowers, such as yellow slipper flowers, white petunias, or purple verbena.
